§ 8-192. Authority to issue notice to appear.

Any animal control officer shall have the authority to issue a notice to appear, as defined in section 107-1(c) of the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 (725 ILCS 5/107-1(c)), for any violation of this chapter, and for this purpose any animal control officer is hereby designated as a "peace officer" within the meaning of section 2-13 of the Criminal Code of 1961 (720 ILCS 5/2-13) for such limited purpose.
