§ 8-50. Mistreating, interfering with, etc., police dogs.

  • It shall be unlawful and a violation of this section for any person to willingly or maliciously taunt, torment, tease, beat, strike, kick, torture, mutilate, injure, disable, poison, kill or administer or subject any desensitizing chemical or substance to any dog used by any law enforcement department or agency in the performance of the functions or duties of such department or agency or when placed in confinement off duty; or to interfere with or meddle with any such dog while being used by any law enforcement department or any handler thereof in the performance of any of the duties or functions of such department or agency.
