§ 4-26. Eligibility to apply for license.

  • (a)

    Any person may apply for a license in a classification for which no limit on the number of licenses is established pursuant to this article.

    (b)

    Prior to applying for an original license in a license classification for which a limit on the number of licenses is established pursuant to this article, any person applying for such a license shall first meet one of the following conditions:

    (1)

    Be a bona fide purchaser of a business to which a license is currently issued; or

    (2)

    Be determined or selected from among those registered to be the person that may apply for an original license in an applicable license classification in the manner described in section 4-27; or

    (3)

    Be a party to an annexation, development, redevelopment or other commercial business incentive agreement with the village which contains a provision expressly authorizing the issuance of any such license.
