§ 44-44. Insurance.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to operate a taxicab unless such taxicab is covered by a bond or public liability policy as required by chapter 8 of the Illinois Vehicle Code. Evidence that the applicant has filed with the Secretary of State such bond or insurance policy with a minimum in the amount provided by chapter 8 of the Illinois Vehicle Code shall be filed with the clerk prior to the issuance of any license.
