§ 24-57. Applicability of article.

The provisions of this article shall apply to any appointment to any full-time employee position, to any part-time employee position or to any fire employee position except: any officer position, which shall be appointed by the village president by and with the advise and consent of the board of trustees in accordance with the applicable provisions of section 3.1-30-5 (65 ILCS 5/3.1-30-5) of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/1-1-1 et seq.), as amended; any police employee position to the extent subject to the jurisdiction of the board of fire and police commissioners of the village; and the fire employee position of fire chief, which shall be appointed by the village president by and with the advice and consent of the board of trustees in accordance with chapter 16, article II.
