§ 24-27. Authorized positions.

The corporate authorities shall establish the maximum number of all authorized positions for any full-time employee position, part-time employee position and fire employee position as a part of the annual budget. The annual budget shall contain a list of classifications by position within each department or budget activity of the village according to the fund or budget activity by which any such position is funded, the classification to which each such position is assigned and the number of full-time equivalent positions assigned to each such classification within each department or budget activity. Any revision to the number of full-time equivalent positions as authorized by the annual budget or the establishment of any new position shall only be made by the adoption of an ordinance passed by the concurrence of a majority of the corporate authorities then holding office.
